Supplemental Spectroscopic Techniques
Useful for Pharmaceutical Products
Because the industry gold standard for drug products analysis is chromatographic based techniques and there is a wealth of information available to the developer to assist in chromatographic method development, useful supplemental spectroscopic techniques are often overlooked. Spectroscopic techniques can have valuable qualitative and/or quantitative applications–ranging from identification tests to the study of specific physical properties (e.g., color or morphology) to API quantification.
This white paper highlights some qualitative and quantitative applications of the spectroscopic techniques here at Boston Analytical, Inc. and an overview of the theory behind these techniques. Utilizing these spectroscopic techniques benefits method development as they are oftentimes fast and can be done in tandem to lengthy chromatographic analyses.
