New England's Largest Environmental Lab Acquires Boston Analytical

Westborough, Massachusetts - October 28, 2009: Alpha Analytical (www.alphalab.com) is announcing today the completion of acquisition of Boston Analytical, Inc.

Established in 1987, Boston Analytical is a registered, cGMP compliant contract testing laboratory providing quality analytical and microbiological testing services to the pharmaceutical, biotech, device, cosmetic and nutritional products industries. Boston Analytical will retain its name and all of its existing staff. Gary Feinstein, chief executive officer and Robert McBride, president of Boston Analytical will continue in their existing roles.

Although the economic climate of the past year has proven to be quite challenging, Alpha Analytical has seen increases in revenue, new hires and an overall surge in growth and financial stability during this period. This acquisition adds to Alpha Analytical's existing portfolio of testing and analytical services while at the same time, expands Alpha into the growing life sciences industry.

Boston Analytical expands facility by 5,000 square feet bringing total square footage to over 20,000. The additional space will be used to facilitate growth by expanding laboratory, office and stability storage capabilities.

April 2005...


Boston Analytical opens brand new 2500 square foot Microbiology Lab. This state of the art facility will offer compendial USP Microbiological Services and features MicroSeq® a State-of-the-Art Microbial Identification system. This Comparative DNA Sequencing Technology is widely regarded as the fastest and most accurate means of performing species level Microbial Identifications. Sterility testing is performed using a custom made class 100 Glove Box equipped with VHP Sterilization.
